# The bug report did not send

In the Beta build, a failed send says "Nothing was filed. Your words are still here.", names the reason, and offers the private inbox; the usual causes are the network, an hourly limit on reports, or a missing build code.

## Steps

1. Read the red box. It starts "Nothing was filed. Your words are still here." Nothing you typed is lost.
2. Match the sentence. "We could not reach the bug report service. Check your internet connection and try again." means a connection problem. "Too many reports from this connection in the last hour. Wait a while, or use the private inbox." means the hourly limit. "The report did not carry a build code, so it was not accepted." and "The bug report service refused this report. You can try again, or use the private inbox." are the others.
3. Try again. Press "Send bug report" once the cause is dealt with. A second press while it is sending does nothing.
4. Or use the private inbox. Press "Use the private inbox instead". It says: "Your mail client is opening. The report is on your clipboard, so paste it into the message." If the copy fails it says to select the preview and paste it in.
5. Keep the code from the red box and press "Copy error details" if you write to us.

## How to tell it worked

The panel shows "Filed. Thank you.", or your mail client opens with the report.

## If it does not work

**The Send bug report button is greyed out.**

Read the line under it. "Write what happened to turn on Send." means the first box is empty. "This report is too long ..." means shorten what you wrote or turn an extra off. "The build code could not be read, so the one-press send is switched off." means use the private inbox.

**The private inbox does not open.**

The panel says it could not open your mail client. Press "Copy report" and paste it into an email to us yourself, using the contact details on the Perpetual Technologies website.

**You are on a locked screen.**

The locked screen has its own "Report a bug" button. The report carries the build code, and everything else in it is off.

## Still stuck

Bug reports belong in the app, in Settings, About. Those carry no contact details, so they
get fixed rather than answered. To get a reply, email us instead: that route targets two
business days. https://perpetualtechnologies.co.uk/contact
