# Sign in to NeuralVault

In NeuralVault 2.0 you sign in on the first screen with your email and password; the account tells the install which edition it runs.

## Steps

1. Open NeuralVault. Once a vault exists, the front door reads "Sign in to NeuralVault", with the note that your vault stays on this machine and the account is only how the install knows what you have paid for.
2. Type your email and password. Press Enter in either box, or press "Sign in".
3. When it works the app shows "Signed in as" followed by your address and opens.
4. Later, Settings, then Account, then Plan and sign-in shows the same "Signed in as" line.

## How to tell it worked

The sign-in screen goes away and the app opens. Settings, Account, Plan and sign-in shows "Signed in as" with your address.

## If it does not work

**The Sign in button is greyed out.**

It stays disabled until both the email box and the password box have something in them.

**The password box empties after every attempt, including a failed one.**

It always empties after an attempt. Type it again.

**The error mentions a confirmation link.**

The account has not been confirmed yet. A "Send the confirmation email again" button appears under the form. Press it and use the newest email.

**You are offline.**

Signing in is the step that needs a connection. Once you are signed in the install keeps working offline and refreshes quietly when it can. If it goes a full week without reaching the internet it drops to Free until it can check again. Nothing is deleted when that happens.

## Still stuck

Bug reports belong in the app, in Settings, About. Those carry no contact details, so they
get fixed rather than answered. To get a reply, email us instead: that route targets two
