# Sign out

In NeuralVault 2.0 you can sign out from the Account menu or from Settings, Account, Plan and sign-in; your vault and notes stay on the machine.

## Steps

1. Open the Account row at the bottom of the sidebar. The menu names the signed-in address at the top.
2. Choose "Sign out". Hovering it says your plan keeps working on this device and stops renewing until you sign in again.
3. Or open Settings, then Account, then Plan and sign-in, and press "Sign out" there.
4. The settings screen answers "Signed out. Your vault and everything in it stay on this machine."

## How to tell it worked

The Account menu now says "Not signed in" and offers a "Sign in" row instead of "Sign out".

## If it does not work

**An error appears under the menu after you choose Sign out.**

Read the message, then try again from Settings, Account, Plan and sign-in.

**You expected signing out to remove your notes or the app data.**

It does neither. Your vault is your own folder and signing out leaves it alone. To delete what the app stores on this machine, use Remove my data in Settings.

**You are on a Test or Dev build and the app locked when you signed out.**

That is how those builds are documented to behave. Signing out forgets the local grant for a Test or Dev build, so it locks until you sign in with an account that has access.

## Still stuck

Bug reports belong in the app, in Settings, About. Those carry no contact details, so they
get fixed rather than answered. To get a reply, email us instead: that route targets two
