# Wire channels: categories, and the voice channel that is not built yet

Discord-style text channels grouped into collapsible categories, with one way to point a message at a Board card: a wikilink, the same syntax your notes use.

## Steps

1. Open Wire to see its channels, grouped into categories you can collapse, in the order you left them.
2. Reference a Board card from a channel message with the link picker, which inserts [[card title]]: the vault’s own wikilink convention, so it means the same thing here as it does in a note.

## How to tell it worked

A wikilinked card reference in a channel message points at the same card you picked, the same way a wikilink in a note points at the same note.

## If it does not work

**You are looking for a voice channel.**

Not built yet. The data model has a place for one, reserved rather than removed, but nothing in this build creates or joins one.

**Wire is not there at all.**

It needs Business edition specifically, the same gate as the rest of Wire.
