What we record and why.

Who runs the server

Perpetual Technologies runs the server. For anything about your data, email contact@perpetualtechnologies.co.uk.

What we record

• When you join, leave, or have a role added or removed.
• Messages that AutoMod blocks. The alert includes the blocked text, so moderators can judge it.
• Messages a moderator edits or removes, and who did it.
• Moderation actions: timeouts, kicks and bans, with the reason where one was given.
• Changes to channels, roles, invites and server settings, so we can see who changed what.

Most of this is copied from Discord's own audit log into private channels, every 15 minutes. Discord keeps audit log entries for about 45 days.

Why

To keep the server safe, to handle reports and appeals, and to explain a decision if someone asks for one. We do not use these records for marketing, and we do not sell them.

Who can see it

Only the Founder, Co-Founder, Moderators and our own bots can see the logs. They sit in private channels that other members cannot open.

How long we keep our copies

Our copies of member, server and AutoMod records are deleted after 90 days. Copies of moderation actions (kicks, bans, timeouts and removed messages) are kept for 365 days, so that an appeal can be checked against the record. After that they are deleted automatically. Discord keeps its own audit log for about 45 days, separately from our copies.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, where the law allows. Email us as above. We will reply within the time the UK GDPR requires.

Changes

If we add a logging bot or change what is recorded, this page will be updated before the change goes live.
