Connectors, GitHub and plugins
Link the assistant to tools and services you already use.
Adding and checking a connector
The Yours and Discover tabs, or a server you add by hand.
- Connectors: the Yours and Discover tabs and the Check buttonIn NeuralVault 2.0, Settings, Connections and data, Connectors and integrations has a Yours tab for what you have added and a Discover tab for the catalogue; adding one needs the Personal edition.
- Connect an MCP serverA connector is an MCP server NeuralVault may run on an agent’s behalf. You test it first, then choose which of its tools an agent may call.
- Add a custom connector by handIn NeuralVault 2.0 a custom MCP server is added with the "Connect a new server" form: give it a command, test it, choose what agents may call, then save; it needs the Personal edition.
Credentials and sign-in
Where a connector keeps its secret, and connecting GitHub.
- Give a connector its credentialsCredential values are entered per connector after it is saved, in a password field that is never shown back to you.
- Connect GitHub: sign in with GitHub, the gh sign-in, or a tokenIn NeuralVault 2.0 the GitHub card at the top of Settings, Connectors and integrations connects the assistant to your repositories, issues and pull requests. Signing in with GitHub is in Test builds only for now; reusing the gh sign-in on this computer and pasting a token work as before.
Plugins and the command line
Install a plugin, or use the nv tool.
- Plugins: what they are, and how one connectsA plugin is a separate program that talks to NeuralVault over a local socket with narrow, revocable permissions. Personal edition or above.
- Install, switch off and remove a pluginIn NeuralVault 2.0, Settings, Agents and tools, Plugins installs a plugin from a folder, shows what it asks for, and lets you switch it off, remove it or revoke its grant; running plugins needs the Personal edition.
- Use the nv command-line toolThe nv tool is built but is not in a public download yet, so this describes it rather than something you can install today. In NeuralVault 2.0 the installer adds a Start menu shortcut that opens a command prompt with the nv tool ready; running a turn from a script needs the Personal edition, while "nv status" and "nv doctor" run on every edition.
