Add a custom connector by hand

In NeuralVault 2.0 a custom MCP server is added with the "Connect a new server" form: give it a command, test it, choose what agents may call, then save; it needs the Personal edition.

Steps

  1. Open Settings, then Connections and data, then Connectors and integrations. Open the Add menu and choose "Add a custom connector".
  2. Fill in "Server ID" (for example nv-fast-web), "Command" (for example node, npx or python), and "Arguments (one per line)".
  3. If the server needs secrets, list their names in "Environment variable names (comma-separated, optional)", then fill in the value boxes. A blank value box keeps a value already stored.
  4. Press "Test connection". The app runs the command and waits for it to list its tools, which can take up to 30 seconds.
  5. Read the tool list. Each tool has a read-only option: "Read-only: an agent may call it with no approval". Choose what to grant.
  6. Press "Save connector". It then appears on the Yours tab.

How to tell it worked

The connector shows on the Yours tab, and its Check button reports "Answered" with a tool count.

If it does not work

Test connection stays on "Connecting…".
It can take up to 30 seconds while the command starts and lists its tools. If it fails after that, check the command and arguments by running them yourself in a terminal.
The server declares no tools.
The screen says so. There is nothing to grant. Check the server is the right one and starts correctly.
The message says the connector was saved but some values could not be stored.
It names which. Set them from the connector’s own credentials panel.
You cannot add a connector.
The screen states that adding a connector needs the Personal edition.
