Check for updates and install one
In NeuralVault 2.0 the app checks for an update when it starts and from Settings, Account, About; it downloads in the background but only installs when you press "Restart to install".

Steps
- Open Settings, then Account, then About and find the update panel.
- Press "Check for updates". The panel reports "Checking for updates...", then one of "Version X is available. Downloading...", a percentage while it downloads, "Version X is ready to install." or "NeuralVault is up to date."
- When it is ready, a "ready" badge shows. "See what changed in" that version links the release notes.
- Press "Restart to install". If you have unsaved work the app asks you to confirm first.
- After the restart, About shows the new version.
How to tell it worked
The About screen reports the new version after the restart.
If it does not work
- The panel says updates are not available in this build.
- The panel’s own message says why. Test and Dev builds never update themselves, by design, and are installed by hand.
- The update check failed.
- The panel says "The update check failed." and gives the reason. Check your connection and try again.
- A toast said an update was downloaded but nothing happened.
- Download is automatic and installing is not. Open Settings, About and press "Restart to install".
- The app is never offered an older version.
- That is deliberate. The updater only moves forward.
