Reset a forgotten password

In NeuralVault 2.0 the sign-in screen has a "Forgot password" button that emails a reset link; the reset itself happens in your browser.

Steps

  1. On the sign-in screen, type your email address into the Email box. The Forgot password button stays disabled until it has something in it.
  2. Press "Forgot password".
  3. The app answers that if the address has an account, a reset link is on its way, that it opens in your browser, and that you can sign in here once the new password is set.
  4. Open the email, click the link and set the new password in the browser page.
  5. Return to NeuralVault and sign in with the new password. The app never sees either password during the reset.

How to tell it worked

Signing in with the new password succeeds and the app opens.

If it does not work

The Forgot password button is greyed out.
Type your email address first. It is disabled while the Email box is empty.
The app says a link is on its way but no email arrives.
The message is worded "if the address has an account", so it does not confirm that one exists. Check the spelling of the address you typed and check your spam folder.
