What Chat can and cannot do: model switching, regenerating and attachments
Switching models in one conversation does not change your default. Regenerate and Edit only ever act on the very last message. There are no file or image attachments in this build.

Steps
- Pick a model in the composer to change it for that one conversation. This does not touch the default model tier a new conversation starts on.
- Regenerate and Edit both appear only on the most recent message, because either one rewinds the conversation past it. Offering them on an older message would silently delete everything that came after it, so the button is never shown there.
- To bring vault content into a message, use the @ note picker. There is no file or image upload in this build.
- The Copy button on a reply copies only the rendered text of that reply. For a full-fidelity record, including tool calls, use Export conversation, which writes the whole transcript to your vault as a note.
How to tell it worked
Starting a new conversation shows your usual default model, even after you deliberately switched models inside a previous conversation.
If it does not work
- You switched the model mid-conversation and every new conversation still opens on the old one.
- That is expected. The picker changes the model for that conversation alone. Change the default itself under Settings, AI & extensions, Model tiers.
- You want to regenerate or edit a message that is not the last one.
- Not available. Doing so would rewind past everything said since, so the option is only offered where that is unambiguous: the last message.
- You are looking for a way to attach a screenshot or a file.
- There is not one. The only way to bring your own content into a message is the @ note picker, which means the content has to be a note in your vault first.
