Ask an agent a one-off question, or turn it into a workflow

"Ask now" is a single question with a single reply, not a conversation. "Edit as workflow" creates a brand new, separate workflow rather than changing the agent itself.

Steps

  1. On an agent card, press Ask now and type a task. You get one reply, shown under that card; it is not a back-and-forth conversation the way Chat is.
  2. Press the agent card itself to see View as workflow: a read-only diagram of what the agent actually is, its trigger, its instructions and token budget, the tools it can call, and its scope.
  3. Press Edit as workflow to turn it into something you can rearrange. This creates a brand new workflow note, one trigger pointed at this agent, and opens it on the Workflows page.

How to tell it worked

After Edit as workflow, a new item exists on the Workflows page, and the original agent’s own settings are unchanged.

If it does not work

You expected Edit as workflow to change how the agent behaves.
It does not touch the agent at all. It is a one-time scaffold: a new, independent workflow is created that starts by running this agent, and nothing about the agent itself is copied or altered.
You wanted a running conversation with an agent, not a single answer.
Ask now is one question, one reply, by design. Chat is the conversational surface; agent cards are not.
