An update did not apply, or the app cannot find one
Check for updates in Settings, About. Installs from before 30 August 2026 ran a different underlying build and cannot update themselves in place.

Steps
- Open Settings, then General, then About, and check for updates there first.
- If nothing is offered and your version predates 30 August 2026, uninstall and install the current version by hand. That older build has no path to update itself.
- Your vault is not touched by an uninstall. Your notes are your own files in your own folder.
How to tell it worked
The About screen reports the new version number after restarting.
If it does not work
- After updating, your theme, vault folder or provider choices are gone.
- They should all survive an update exactly as you left them. If they did not, that is a bug rather than something you did, and worth telling us.
