Attach an image or a text file to a message

In NeuralVault 2.0 the message box takes images and text files by button, drag and drop or paste, with limits on size and count; an image needs a model that can see images.

Steps

  1. Press the "Attach" button in the message box (its accessible name is "Attach a file or image"), or drag files onto the message box, or paste an image.
  2. Images can be JPEG, PNG, WebP or GIF, up to 20 MB each. Very large pictures are scaled down before they are sent. Text files are read as text, for example .txt, .md, .json, .csv or source code, up to 2 MB each.
  3. You can attach up to 12 files at a time. They are listed above the message box under "Attached files".
  4. Check the model can see images. If it cannot, the app warns you and the send button stays disabled until you remove the image or switch models.
  5. Send the message.

How to tell it worked

The files show in the list above the message box and the reply refers to them.

If it does not work

The app says a file "was not attached: you can attach up to 12 files at a time."
Remove some attachments first.
The app says a file is larger than this app sends.
Images are limited to 20 MB and plain files to less than that. Use a smaller file.
The warning says the model cannot see images.
Remove the image, or choose a model with vision from the model button.
