NeuralVault will not open, or the window is blank or stops working
In the Beta build, work through this list when the app does not open or the window goes blank: it may already be running, a Reload may fix a crashed window, and the log file is at %APPDATA%\NeuralVault\logs.

Steps
- Check it is not already running. A second launch brings the existing window to the front, so it can look as if nothing happened. If you turned on "Keep NeuralVault running in the tray when I close the window" (Settings, Appearance, Window), closing the window only hides it. Look for the NeuralVault icon in the Windows tray. Its menu has "Open NeuralVault" and "Quit NeuralVault".
- Give it a few seconds. The first screen shows the mark with "NeuralVault" and "Perpetual Technologies" and clears by itself.
- If a box says "NeuralVault stopped working" with "The NeuralVault window stopped working.", press "Reload". It says your saved notes are not affected and that anything you had not saved in that window is lost.
- If a card in the window says "This screen crashed" with the code NV-UI-001, press "Reload". If it crashes again, press "Copy error details" and report it.
- If a banner at the top says the engine stopped or is not running, see the guide on the engine banner.
- If the window is blank and none of the above appears, close it and start NeuralVault again from the Start menu.
- Find the log. In File Explorer open %APPDATA%\NeuralVault\logs. The file is main.log, and the one before it is main.log.1. If the app does open, "Open log folder" in the bug report panel opens the same place.
- Report it. If the app opens, press Ctrl+Shift+B. If it does not, write to us through the contact page on the Perpetual Technologies website and include your version and the last lines of main.log. Read the log first and send only what you are happy to share.
How to tell it worked
The window opens and shows the sign-in screen or Chat.
If it does not work
- The same crash happens every time.
- Report it. Quote the code and the build code. A crash that repeats is exactly what we need to see.
- A folder-blocked message appears during setup.
- See the guide on Windows blocking the vault folder.
- You are worried about your notes.
- Your vault is a folder on your disk. A crashed window does not delete it.
