Your plan could not be renewed, or you have been offline

In the Beta build, your plan is a signed copy kept on this computer that renews by itself while NeuralVault is open and online; the copy lasts seven days, and if it runs out with no successful check the app locks until it can check in. Nothing is deleted.

Steps

  1. Connect to the internet and leave NeuralVault open. It renews your plan by itself. Each good renewal starts the seven days again.
  2. To renew straight away, open Settings, then Account, then Plan and sign-in, and press "Renew now".
  3. Read the answer under the button. "Renewed. Your edition is up to date and applies immediately." means it worked. "Nothing to do: this was renewed recently." means it is already fine. "Sign in first. Renewal needs an account session." means you must sign in. "Your account refused the renewal. Your current edition keeps working until it expires." means the account service said no. "Could not reach your account. This retries on its own, and your current edition keeps working." means a connection problem.
  4. Read the "Renewal" group above the button. "Automatic renewal" says when it last renewed, or "Not renewed yet on this install". "Plan runs until" gives the date. "Renewal warning" and "Last attempt" appear when renewal is failing, with the reason and a code you can quote.
  5. Watch for the warning at the top of the window. When renewal has been failing and fewer than three days are left, a strip says "Could not reach the account service since <date>. Your <edition> features stay until <date>. Settings, Plan and sign-in has the details." If the service answered but refused, it begins "Renewing your plan has failed" instead. Dismiss it with the X. It comes back the next time you open the app.
  6. If the seven days run out with no successful check, a release build locks. It stops running beyond sign-in, status, updates and bug reports until it can check in. The screen reads "The Beta cannot reach the licence service". It does not drop to Free, and nothing is deleted. Connect to the internet and it checks by itself. You can press "Check again" on that screen.
  7. If your subscription has lapsed and the app can check in, you get the Free edition while the Beta is open to your account. That is a billing answer, not a connection one.
  8. If the error says your sign-in has expired, sign in again from Settings, then Account, then Plan and sign-in.

How to tell it worked

After "Renew now" the answer reads "Renewed.", and "Plan runs until" shows a date in the future.

If it does not work

You were offline for more than a week and the app shows a locked screen.
Reconnect and wait, or press "Check again" on the locked screen. The copy of your plan is only good for seven days between successful checks, so after that the app locks until it can check in. It does not drop to Free. Nothing is deleted: your notes are files on your disk and are not affected either way.
The error mentions no active subscription or an ended subscription.
That is a billing answer, not a connection problem. See the guide on checking your plan, and sign in with the account you bought with.
The error says the plan is in use on all its computers.
The place frees 30 minutes after the other copy last checked in. Wait and try again.
The renewed plan could not be installed.
Try renewing again. If it keeps happening, press "Copy error details" and send the text to us. Your current plan is unchanged.
